The last time we had my sons King Quad out it ran fine for the first 3 hrs and then abruptly quit. It started right away and ran fine for another 20 minutes and then quit again. After some coaxing it started again but quit within minutes for good. Dragged it home and checked for a fuel problem, fuel was not the problem, checked the spark and it was ok. Checked compression and found it to be about 30 psi - not good. Sprayed oil in the cylinder and checked compression again and found not difference telling me it is not likely a piston ring problem. This is leading me to believe it is a problem with the valves. If it was a cracked valve I don't think it would have started again after it quit the first time. At this point I am thinking it is likely a sticky valve but if it was a sticky valve wouldn't it not make any compression at all? Has anyone had any similar experiences? Thoughts? if it is a stuck valve is there a strait forward way to unstick it without pulling the head off? Thanks.

try adjusting the valve clearance. I had a problem with mine getting tight.
