I've been reading more and more about the upper motor mounts on the Vinson cracking. Some think it is because they left the factory without the bolts being torqued correctly.

Anyone heard anything about this problem?

I think (after checking out other sites) that most of the problems with the motor mounts were with the ~02 models.  I don't think there have been many problems on the later models...could be wrong?

birch, welcome to our site! Glad to hear it's not all Vinson models. Could have been someone not doing their job on the assembly line back in 02. The Vinson seems to be a good machine

So far we really like the Vinson (wifes machine)  When it comes time to trade in my 01 400 Cat, the Vinson will be high on the list.  It has plenty of get up and go and a pretty decent ride, for an SRA.  I would like to get some time on the A/C H1 to see how the ride is?  I,m getting to the age where ride quality is more important than engine size      And It's been said that the H1 is very good in that department.  But what feels good to one may feel like a lumber wagon to the next person.

I agree about ride quality. Since I have had IRS, I don't think I would go back to SRA

Boy that would ruin your day if your motor falls out going down the trail.

I haven't had any problems with mine. I have about 2200 miles on the Vinny right now. I love this machine.
