Check out these pictures of a surveying company that's in town doing some work for the oil pipeline that is coming through Morden shortly.

Five 2008 Outlander 650's all bought from Enns Bros (our local dealership here in Manitoba, they have 4 dealerships in Manitoba)

Good to see more and more people are recognizing a quality ATV!!!

I was talking with the dealer this morning and this company flips them every 6 months, because at that time the quads have 3000 miles on them.

I see a license plate on one of the 650, you can license it?

Yipe, you are required to licence them. But yet we are not allowed to drive on the roads, get that eh?
All these units have plates on them and they do drive on back and gravel roads, just like we do. If the cops see you have a plate, they are less likely to pull you over.

I'm assuming that when you put plates on them you have to pay some type of fee!!!

Yes we do, a basic plate is $35.00. Put like for my Outty I also put fire & theft and collection insurance on it as well and it cost me like $300.00/year. So that's not to bad. There are some people that do not register there quads, but it's mainly farmers and such. But we live 14 miles from the USA border and we like to go into the States and do some riding and without a plate, there's no darn way they will let ya across the border!!

No plates required in your State?

No plates allowed, plates are for highway use vehicles only

I have full coverage insurance

Figure a 5 day workweek 4 times a month. That's 120 days or only 25 miles a day.

They have them set for miles and when you think of it, you are using them almost every day, the miles sure would add up. The salesman for the dealership actually took me for lunch today he was telling me this was there 3rd set already. Before this they had Polaris quads and they sure does like there Can-Ams now!!!:dan:

Looking at it as if you were going to buy one after they traded it in, might be like buying a rental car, personaly I would not buy a vehicle after it was used by someone who was not responsible for it's upkeep. :2cent:

Forestry cops quad around the trails here and they'll nail you for no plates & insurance. A no insurance fine is the same as a car, upwards of $2,000....no plates is generally a couple - few huundred bucks, unless the cop is in a bad mood and decides to really ruin your day.
Typically you will never see them except for special occasions...long weekends, rodeo days etc...

I also found out this afternoon that the inclosed trailer in the pictures has some more quads in it. I heard they are also running some King Quads. These guys do not mess around let me tell ya! I am hoping to run into them when they are out in the field and I'll snap some more pics.

It can be harsh alright. Even the kids run plates & insurance here if they're riding the ditches.

I pay about 90 bucks a month for my truck and bike to insure them. The bike has a plate ($35 dollar fee) but in our area we can drive them anywhere on the roads except major highways. No signal lights, horns, etc are required. Just have to use hand signals.
