The wife and I went on this poker run and it was a blast !

It was too short..........but a fun run.

They need to incorporate a few resturant/bar grills along the way so you can have some lunch.

From Wikipedia:

A Poker run (also known as a Poker Derby) is an organized event using a motorcycle, boat, car or other form of transportation where participants travel over a predesignated route and, at designated stops on the route, draw playing card(s). The object is to have the best poker hand at the end of the run. Prizes (usually cash prizes) are awarded for the best hand; some runs will award smaller awards for lower hands. Poker runs usually require a fee to enter; part of the fee goes to funding the event (including the prizes), while the rest goes to the event's cause (usually a charity of some sort). Specific rules and details vary, depending on the event. Moreover, each participant will be responsible to maintain the integrity of their cards during the run.

zilla, they are pretty common around here, mostly for snowmobile rides. Kinda of a way to ensure that the people involved stop at all of the destinations along the ride, usually bars who are partial sponsors. They figure that you have to go there to get your card, so you will probably get a drink or some food there to cover the cost of the sponsorship and probably some extra for the wallet.

Thanks, I hadn't a clue what they were all about, sounds like fun, even if you don't drink.

There are other pluses. The first one I did in WV was on outlaw trails. The trails are flagged every so many feet so you don't get lost. It gives you some comfort and helps you get to know your way around.

Well, of course no one ever takes down the flags or signs so occasionally we follow old flags and discover new routes. Never know where you might end up though. :tg:
