Dear ATVAM Member,

Hello from the Hay Days Committee!   Unless we met at one of the ATVAM events or on the trail, it has been a year since we last got together.  So we're glad we'll have another chance to see you.

The Sno-Barons 42nd annual Hay Days Snowmobile Grass Drags and Swap Meet is just around the corner on September 6-7, 2008 near Lino Lakes, MN.

Volunteers have participated in this important fundraising event for the last 12 years.  We are doing Hospitality/Base Camp along with the familiar Hauling Service.   Since we have no overnite duties, riding ATVs or walking outside of base camp will not be allowed after 8:00 p.m.   So we are working on base camp evening activity(s).  If you have any suggestions for evening activity(s) please notify the Hay Days committee ASAP.  We hope to have the continuing support of all the volunteers in the past and the future.

Even though some volunteers have already contacted the committee, we wanted to remind you about Hay Days and let you know where we need your help.  Volunteers are required to call one of the committee members listed below by August 15, 2008 to insure the shift and job you want is available.

1.  Hospitality/Base Camp - These duties include food preparation and check in/out (attendance and equipment).   We need your help Friday, Sept 5th thru Sunday, Sept. 7th.

2.  Hauling Service - We use ATVs to pull single place trailers during the swap meet to help pick up used snowmobiles, ATVs, parts and misc. items.  You will have an opportunity to test your trailer pulling skills among thousands of people.  Age 18 or older can help with the Hauling Service.  We also need help running the Staging tents and the drop off area.  We need your help Saturday and Sunday, Sept 6th & 7th, (Saturday 8 a.m. - 7 p.m., Sunday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m).

3.  Assembling/Tear Down - We need help with assembling trailers, putting up aisle markers and the membership booth.  This starts Friday, Sept 5th mid-morning.  Tear down will be Sunday, Sept 7th at 5 p.m.

Recruit a friend(s) and make the job more fun!  If you or anyone you know would be interested in volunteering or would like more information, please contact one of the committee members listed below.  Thank you for your help!

ANOTHER GREAT REASON TO VOLUNTEER FOR HAY DAYS

PowerMadd would like to reward all Hay Days volunteers with a set of free handguards.  ATVAM members volunteering at Hay Days can bring their ATV to the HMK / Pink Ribbon Riders booth on Saturday from 9-10 AM and 1-2 PM to have their free guards installed.  And if you have a camo ATV, check out the new camo guards from PowerMadd, officially licenses by Realtree.

See you at Hay Days!

Regards,

Randy Shimanski
