O.K.  Steel wheels get 52 lbs of torque, and alum wheels 74.

I have steel wheels with alum 1.5" spacers and was wondering what the torque should be. I'm thinkin torque the spacers(because they are alum) at 74 and the wheels 52 (cause they are steel).

Doesn't appear to be any reason for the spacers to come off in the future, loctite?

QUADZILLA, where did you read that the torq for the steel wheels is differnt from the aluminum wheels? I have read both numbers but could never figure out why. I thought it was a misprint in the book.

Sorry but I don't know the answer to your question but maybe you know mine.

I have had my alum. wheels torq'd at 52#s.

This is from the shop manual, given that the xt's have aluminum wheels and the non xt's have steel wheels.

Thanks Trailrider, I have a shop manuel that is earlier than that one. It is only for 400s and 800s.
