The H&K P2000 with the LEM trigger is by far the best handgun on the market!!! IMO

Here is a basic concept of it. You really have to feel one to appreciate it. The trigger pull on it is so smooth, picture your glock, but about half the resitance on the trigger pull until you get to the point of where you would be if you fired and slowly let the trigger go forward until you feel the click of the trigger reset.

"The newest addition to the Heckler & Koch handgun line, the P2000 “US” incorporates features of the successful HK USP Compact pistol with the latest innovations of HK engineers. A refinement of a design created for several European police agencies, the P2000 US uses the trigger system introduced in 2001 on the USP Compact “LEM” (Law Enforcement Modification) model.

This unique pre-:pod:ed hammer system combines the advantages of a :pod:ed striker component (constant level of trigger pull and short trigger travel from first to last round fired) with a double action hammer system. The P2000 trigger pull has been reduced to 7.5 to 8.5 pounds of pressure, compared to 9.5 to 11.5 pounds found on many conventional double action pistols.

Using such an enhanced trigger system consolidates ease of use and safety into a convenient, innovative trigger operation—one that prevents unintended firing. And in case of an ammunition-related failure to fire, all that is needed is an additional second or third pull of the trigger without the need of first pulling the slide back to re-:pod: the P2000. The enhanced LEM trigger system combines the reliability of a double action revolver trigger with the crisp, precise trigger of a single action pistol. A set of simple-to-install modular grips allows the P2000 to be custom-fitted to any shooter’s hand. An ambidextrous magazine release and dual slide release levers make handling the P2000 natural and easy for right- and left-handed shooters alike."

so you squeeze to C0CK it.. let it off and then squeeze it again to fire it ... kinda cool eh ....DAMN 7.5-8.5 is a LOT of pressure. I went thru my Glock before I ever fired it and replaced everything in it with the titainium stuff and I swapped out my 5 pound trigger for the 3.5 pound one. GAWD is it smooth but you have to shoot it a lot to get used to the light pull. something I dont mind doin LOL

My Kimber 1911 PRO CDP II from the Custom Shop will blow your doors off. Mag well, Laser grips, new improved internal extractor slide (no charge), added ambi safety, with a competition trigger with 1/8" slack and a 2 lb letoff with no feelable trigger movement at letoff is superb.

Aluminum frame with their latest black super durable finish and a matte stainless slide. And night sights, and a pile of ACT-MAG (same as Wilson) magazines. Love it.

Won't go into the mods on my Bushmaster Carbon 15 97S w/ EO-TECH sight. It would fill up the page. Love it too.

Futureweapons, on discovery channel, did show on HKs ar15 type rifle, man that looks like a replacment for my bushmaster if it comes in semi. They buried it in sand shook it out and burned a clip thru it.

Bushmaster, right now, has for sale a AR15 with a new gas tube and recoil system. Testers from gun magazines fired 1500 rds through it and everything was clean as a whistle.

Just bought the sweetest little lever action .22 I ever saw. Perfect "saddle" or atv rifle. Fires LR, L, & shorts, tube mag. Action is as smooth as butter, superb finish. Putting a 1.5 to 6 power Simmons Whitetail scope on when the mount get here.

Give up guessing on the manufacturer? HENRY Repeating Arms Co. (made in USA) . Their cheapest model. Paid only $199. They have fancier models with hexagon barrels and brass receivers, etc. for a couple hundred more. Even got a .44 mag version and .22 WMR.

For a comparison a lever action Marlin 39A is like $500.

I like the lever action rifles :) I bought my winchester 44mag for 299.00 from a local sporting goods shop. its great for stuff out to 100 yards. I have a local reload company that will load up my brass for me. 250 rds for 35 bucks. I used to carry my 7mm mag in the rack behind my bags but it was always hanging out on one side or the other. these little Rangers have a real short barrel ... around 16"  so it doesnt stick out at all. :)

Of interest to anyone who hunts, plinks or just shoots. I've been internetting looking for the most effective .22 ammo. Got a winner.

Aguila SSS. Means super sub-sonic. Bullet is 60 grains in a SHORT case. 800 fps. Will "tumble about 50% of the time from a 1:16 twist barrel. A 1:9 barrel will stabilize it but why worry. A slight recoil can be felt, empty ejects are "smoking". You can hear a "thud' when it hits a rabbit, coyote, etc. Maks a big exit hole in a barrel. Everyone that had an opinion raved about them.

It's even quieter than a "short". These are the bullets used with silencers by assassins. Only good for up to 100 yards, shoots about 2" lower at that distance so hold high or re-zero. It will function and eject from a 10/22. Ideal for max .22 pistol power.

Price is no higher than any good .22 ammo. Aguila has several interesting rounds which I won't go into here. Give the SSS a try. I sent for two 500 packs.

On somewhat the same subject matter (super ammo) check out...http://WWW.EXTREMESHOCKUSA.COM

These are the same bullets used by the airline security guards in flight. Maximum shock effect, bullet turns to powder inside the body cavity, won't penetrate aluminum seat backrests or aircraft skins.

On gelatin the 9mm or .45 blow a 12" cavity on entry. For home defense they wont penetrate through 1" drywall. Won't richochet.

They come in boxes of (5) for about $1.50 each. I ordered 2 boxes of .45's and 2 boxes of 9mm. Just enough to fill up one magazine each with devastating firepower.

Got several 10" x12" metal signs outside screwed to the garage door and entry fences... (Trespassers will be shot. Wounded will be shot again".

I too have shot the aguilla sss and love them.  I usually run them through the heavy barrel 10/22.  While I'm almost certain it isn't real kosher, If you take something like a 1 liter bottle, the neck is about the same size as the barrel of the gun, and secure the bottle with a strip of tape, and hold the bolt closed while firing(cases wont eject anyway) about the loudest thing you hear is the bullet striking the target.

I've read to many mixed results with the Extreme Shock ammo. I personally like to practice with the same ammo that I'm carrying in the gun. For the price I can't afford to go blasting those Extreme Shocks. So I'll stick with my Gold Dots or Winchester Rangers (For Law Enforceement). This is a tamed down version of the notorious Black Talon. Still get the talons just doesn't have the bad press.

Does a liter plastic bottle neck .920? I like to try that help on with a 1.0" radiator hose clamp. Do you cut a hole in the bottom of the bottle? Aguila SSS's are supposed to eject from a 10/22, doesn't yours?

You mentioned holding the bolt closed during firing. Does the empty eject when manually pull back the bolt?
