Well, I will try my hand at this reveiw thing.

The 2002 Polaris 700 sportsman has proved to be a good and capable machine, long trail rides are not really a problem as this is a very comfortable machine to ride. I personally prefer as much preload on the rear suspension as possible, which makes for a slightly haresher ride, but helps on the landings, as this is a very heavy machine. Weight is an issue with this machine, I think it would be more agile in the tecnical trails if it were, lighter, but I think ride quality may suffer and so would the overall ruggedness.

This machine is built like a tank, extremely rugged, which inspires confidence, although it could have a little more power and a clutch kit is recomended. I am not real keen on the carburated machines, fuel injections preferable, bot if you need a machine that can work, than this is the one. I plow an 1/8 mile of snow with mine and have never even seemed to work it hard. The racks are sufficiant, but the newwer models have a better rack system.

things that I dont like are the strut front suspension, non adjustable , although simple in design, I think this machine would be better off with a arms and adjustable shocks. I would also prefer 2 brakes in the rear instead of one, and I dont care for way you have to toggle through the screens on the digital part of the dash, no tach, and no oil pressure guage or temp.

All in all, it is a good well rounded machine, would I buy another one ...yes, but a newwer one, because I think that some of these issues are addressed oon the later models.

I also plow with my 2002 700. Never had a problem. I should invest in a clutch kit for it as I run 28"Tires. It's been an all around good machine!  I like the extra weight makes for a smooth ride in my book. :2cent:
