Thought you guys might be interested in seeing what I am using to tie down my ATV to my trailer rather than ratchet straps. I love it, it takes me only a minute to tie my ATV down or to unload it, plus it locks it to the trailer at 2 points. My only complaint about the system is that both the front and rear brackets each only use a single bolt to attach to the trailer. This is the only dumbass part of the design, espescially on the front where it could use 4 bolts. I may weld my own bracket up someday. It works pretty well after a bit of adjustment. The first time I used it, the back tie down bounced off from the ATV moving up and down. I adjusted it one level tighter and compress the rear end down to get the bar over the hitch mount and now it works fine. I had to mess with the front a little too. I have to lift the ATV slightly when rolling it into the locking mechanism but it means that it releases it smoothly. This is where a better mounting plate would really improve the operation. They have a slightly different model that does NOT fold down like this one but I needed it to fold down for when I am loading 2 ATV's sideways. It just lays flat and fits between the tires. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited on Wed Jun 11th, 2008 04:25 am by 1statv ____________________ Chris Baker 2008 Can-Am Outlander Max XT LTD
