I have a Kolpin Gun Boot 5.0 the follow are what I found the following Pro and Cons with the system: Pros -guns and scope fit in the case -case protected the gun and scope very well -it is easy to connect the gun case to the atv with the mounting bracket -the mounting bracket profile is compact and does not get in the road when you are not using your gun case Cons -case is a little bit bulky on it own with the round connector on the bottom -when riding on the trail I find my gun sways a little bit -I worry that the screw mechanism that holds the gun on the atv will loosen on long rides and my gun would fall off, but this has not happen yet I wish I would of purchase the model with the removable soft case instead of the soft case that attaches to the hard case. I hope you find this useful.

Works for me but .............have you seen the 6.0 and I think it comes in the "transport" also. I wonder what the difference between them is. The Kolpin site does not really give any real details on what is different.

I've got a Kolpin out in the garage But hadn't used yet on the trail. There aren't many places where a rifle/shotgun can be carried. Everything is "stay on the trail!". Only place it would be usable is on private property. By the way, I find the case is way too long for 16" barrel. I guess it was intended for up to a 30" shotgun barrel.

I have the IV ones. I didn't like the ball on the bottom of the 5's cause it didn't look like you could set it down with it there w/o laying it flat. and the 6's went out yet. I use the loop mounts on both ATV's and I have never had a single problem... ever. I bought the black one first cause the camo ones went avail yet, so I bought the camo cover for it. later when I did buy the camo version it didn't have the "furry" lining the black one did and I wasn't happy about that. it didn't look like it would protect my rifle like the furry one does.
