1. Ground clearance.

2. Power

The rest is up for debate.

Even these two areas of dominace are only represented in a stock vs stock comparison. I have said many times that you can pretty much make a machine fit what ever your needs are via the aftermarket. As long as major drive train changes are not needed , ie. making a manual an automatic,  belt drives into auto clutchs, large bore singles into v-twins. Those types of things are pretty much off the table. You can take a 6500.00 staight axle brute force 650 and make it out run even a t-cat with just some money and mods.  You can make an Outlander much taller than a T-cat, you can make a t-cat set lower than an outlander.     It is all up to what a person wants there machine to do best.

The Ground Clearance I must Agree...  ive never scraped the A/C ...but I have on the Outy

Cant comment on the TCAT Power, but certainly my 650 has more juice than the outy 400..not really a fair comparison though

i can add a few more things ,diff lock, real shocks and springs, real racks and plastics,6.5 gallon fuel tank, shift on the fly 4x4, 10 inches of wheel travel all 4 corners, skidplate, duramatic trans and a real frame.

atvmodster

expect to have shots thrown here as such as i have read, ive seen it here before.

here if you dont own a can am you arent in the click reguardless as thats how some are, sad but true.

ive owned  cats and can ams, suzuki, kawi, honda, etc there all good machines its just of matter of what your type of riding is and also your budget.

also they all have there issues its just a matter of which one you want.

for the record, atvmodster has made several posts in the AC forum about the TC, and I have read his posts on HL as well.. we don't have any problems with him or his posts, or his quad.. Quite honestly, he doesn't come off like you do. You are both welcome to post on here concerning your TC's, or any other matters. In the past however, the negativity got outta hand and their were personal attacks.. these things are not welcome here.. But you both are! for the record, I am glad you are both enjoying your rigs, that's the whole point.

How's the front differential holding up on the new Cat's?  I'm hearing a lot of guys are having problems.

Yeah, gets kinda quiet on the trail too when they shut the TC's down and can't restart them. I had written more than this.. but chose to keep it short. :)

Edit....

CC1999, whats happening out there in TC land? How is yours holding up? Have you had any of the problems we have been reading about in some of the other forums...

Noperz not yet. Frick i hate postal services! THe next weekday i get off i have to call and see whats going on. THey dont update tracking on the internet very often. Right night now when i race the outties its kinda close for a little bit and then then tcat pulls away hard. Like say the outty gets a good start and i have to let off because of a wheelie.I can let it down and then step on it and ketch up to the outtie in no time at all. As of now the outtie FEELS like it has more low end with the lower gearing and shorter wheel base but in a race is when you really see how powerful the tcat is. I have never geared anything down in my life so i dont know what to exspect exactly. My prediction is if i will be able to keep the front down it will pull hard away from the outtie off the line but once we get moving i think it will be much closer then it is now.. Like i said thats a prediction i could be wrong. I have heard that the tcats are pulling wheelies at very high speeds with the lower gears but i will have to try it to believe it. THese things do have alot of power i will say that. BOth tcat and outty are great machines and both have there ups and downs. I dont like hearing about some of these front diff incidents in the tcat!! They all were with 29.5 tires and larger but still! Its making me want the 27 inch laws instead! I am not on hear to brag about how much more powerful the tcat is then the outtie.. I am trying to be as honest as i can. The tcat is 150cc larger and it should have more power. One thing i do not get is how stock for stock they say the tcat only has like 4 or 5 more hp because it honestly does feel like more. If i never knew hp numbers of the tcat i would guess it to have at least 10 more hp. I guess the gearing might be the reason it feels this way. Once i put the 3.6 gears in the tcat the outtie 800 will be geared slightly higher from what i read and this will make for a more even comparison.Ill be sure to report. We do have vidoes of races but there on my buddies camera and his adapter is loss and mine will not work on his. I promise as it warms up more hear in canada i will get some vids up on youtube with my camera! I also might be racing a modded renegade 800 this weekend! I have never drove one but guess it should be much closer with there smaller tires and lighter weight. I may get beat who knows!

atvmodster.. if folks are having problems with the stock gearing with large tires.. how do you suppose these diffs will hold up with lower gearing? AT this point I would say you might have trouble even with stock diameter tires with that much more torque being developed.. Just something to think about and discuss.

NOt sure. Wheel speed is often what breaks diffs and with lower gears you will have less wheel speed. Im not gunna worry about it.

Well yeah...I gotta be honest, I have raced a renegade on my 800 outty and it spanked me a little bit...... The only reason I bring up cc1999 is because he is always very informative and accurate, I am not sure of the post but when they put similar tires on the outty and tcat the races were pretty close??? I think it was a couple of lengths?? But I think the 800 was piped with a little clutch work.....Either way I look forward to the vids

Boy I tell ya, I sure expected a lot more feedback on the TC than what I have seen over here.. That is, I haven't heard from folks besides CC.. not that his opinion doesn't count. But there sure was a lot of talk going around before the TC's actually showed up in showrooms.. and now the silence is deafening! Come on fellas... I need to be put in my place and told how it really is with the TC... Must be we have a lot of Arctic cat spies in this forum.. nobody wants to talk about the mods they've made for fear of being "turned in" to their dealer for tampering with their rigs. :)

In the wise words of bugs bunny... "ain't I a stinka?"
