Well ... I had all but decided on buying a Renegade or Outty 800 until this past weekend.  I test drove a new 2008 BF 750 EFI and loved it.  The other selling points for me are the fact that it's $1,100 cheaper than the gade or outty.  For those of you who have both, what would you do?  I'm a bit concerned with buying the BF 750 because of EFI being a 1st year, but loved the little bit of riding I got to do at a local dealership.  BTW ... the midnight blue color is S-W-E-E-T in the sunlight!

I have an 06 800xt and really like the way it rides and handles. I rode a 06 or 07 bf this summer and couldn't wait to get off it and back on the 800. it was sure rough riding and not as smooth nor as powerful.:2cent: You might look on ebay and find a good deal on a new 800 and save some $ over your local dealer.

Have you had a chance to ride the outy and the renegade.  We went to our can-am dealer to test ride a scrambler 500 for my stepmom and after him having us test ride an outy we came back and owned one the next day.  I have not rode a '08 just yet but the 05-07's BF750's sure didn't compare imo.  I'm always happy to get back on my renegade after riding something else.

I haven't had a chance to ride any of the Can-Ams yet ... my local dealer is worthless as tits on a boar as the saying goes.  You have to complete all paperwork around buying before they will let you ride or some such crap.

If they aren't open to allowing me to ride with my next visit, I will most likely end up with something else as I have way more dealerships and other manufacturers to choose from.  I know I may miss out on a Can-Am but it'll be mainly because of the dealer, not the product at this point.  I'd prefer to go Can-Am based on all the research I've done to date, but the dealer is just as important to me and at this point I have little to no faith in the nearest dealer and hate to drive so far away when I have every other brand available and with reasonable dealerships, often multiples per brand.

Go with the 08 750 Brute, they say that it is faster than the Outty on a dirt track drag but after the drag the Outty will pass the Brute.

Go to highlifter.com and check out what those guys have found out on its speed and handling and races that they have done.

I just bought the 07 750 and can't believe the power that it has, its awesome. It will wheelie as long as you want and even from 15-20 mph or a dead stop it comes up with ease. The 08 has way more power as in exceleration than the 07's.

From LaMigra at the Can Am nationals:

We just did an extensive review of the new 08 BF 750EFI, and from 150 to 200' the new 08 BF750EFI hangs with the Outty, but the Outty 800 comes on very strong, passes the Brute at the 300' mark, and continues to walk away.

Was that posted on another site?  I'd like to read more about his review of the BF 750.  I'm most likely going to be coming home with a new Gade 800X tomorrow afternoon after seeing it in the crate, but I'd like to see what the review had to say about the BF.

I ended up with the Gade 800X ... and boy am I glad I held out.  It's a sweet ride and I like all the things I can tinker with to make it match my riding style.  I'm sure the Elkas would be better, but I think I can make the X shocks work for me.  If you're looking at the BF and don't mind having a quad without the racks (like me), go ride a Renegade.  :2cent:

I was seriously contemplating the BF750 after I rode it.  Initially I had removed it from the list due to my neighbor having so many problems with his 360, but after test driving it I really liked it.  If my Can-Am dealer hadn't gotten in an '08 Gade this week I probably would have bought the BF, so yep ... I'm glad Can-Am delivered when they did and I got a chance to see and ride the beast.

Crutchfield makes shocks for the renegades also if you decide to replace the oem's.  I have his shox/custom springs, they make for faster more controlled riding.  Ed is a real friendly guy just to talk to, plus his word is good.

BTW, the gade has a small rear rack and winch option out now if you're interested.

Congrats on your new bike!

I had a BF750 but sold it for an Outty 800 and never looked back. The Outty was faster and for sure handled a lot better. However, you pay for it on price but it is well worth the extra money.

I just bought a 09 renegade 800r and I decided to keep my 08 brute 750 for hunting and plowing and such I have an hmf swamp series and maroon primary spring on my brute and it is a beast but it is no match for the renegade in any way exept for low end torque, we drag raced them on a less than 200 ft stretch and the gade is 4mph faster almost everytime and that was with the stock tires on the brute now with the bighorns on there it wont even be close.

hey Chris ..what's up bro...

Chris and I was part of the Drags that LaMigra talked about in Outladish's post above.... and yes the Brute is pretty quick..but about  2  bike lengths slower in the 100 yard sprint vs. the Outty.. depending on rider weight...
